Quality jobs are key to economic success for people, businesses, communities, and our country. But more than half of the 170 million people in the U.S labor force do not have a quality job and can’t thrive – on the job or at home. 

What is a quality job?

Quality jobs lead to a stronger, more resilient workforce with the skills needed to drive economic success today and in the future.

They allow workers to thrive by providing:

  • Financial well-being Fair pay, stable employment, and benefits that meet basic needs and reduce financial distress
  • Workplace culture and safety A respectful, safe environment free from discrimination or harassment
  • Growth and development opportunities Clear paths to build skills, gain experience, and advance in your career
  • Agency and voice The ability to influence working conditions and shape decisions that affect your job
  • Work structure and autonomy Predictable, sustainable schedules and control over how your work gets done

Meet Lisa Lisa Lipton is a mental health counselor and an advocate for fair chance hiring, emphasizing the loyalty that people with criminal records demonstrate when given the opportunity to work in a quality job.
